- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (food-grade)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 8 ounces filtered water (room temperature or slightly warm)
- 1/2 teaspoon organic honey (optional)
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Pour 8 ounces of filtered water into a tall glass at room temperature or slightly warm.
- Cut one fresh lemon in half and squeeze approximately 1 tablespoon of juice directly into the water.
- Measure 1/4 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda using a measuring spoon.
- Add the baking soda directly to the lemon water and stir immediately with a spoon.
- Watch as the mixture fizzes and bubbles, and continue stirring until the fizzing subsides and the solution becomes clear.

- Consume immediately while the fizz is still active, drinking slowly over 5 to 10 minutes on an empty stomach.
Notes
Chef Tips: Start with 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda if you are new to this remedy to avoid temporary digestive discomfort. Always use room temperature or slightly warm water, as cold water can shock your digestive system and reduce effectiveness. Consume on an empty stomach, ideally first thing in the morning or at least 30 minutes before eating breakfast. Use only fresh lemon juice rather than bottled varieties that contain preservatives.
