Ingredients
Ground Beef – 1 lb (450g)
Cremini Mushrooms – 8 oz (225g), sliced thick
Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
Ginger – 1 tbsp, grated
Onion – 1 medium, sliced thin
Red Bell Pepper – 1 large, sliced into strips
Soy Sauce – 3 tbsp (low-sodium preferred)
Sesame Oil – 1 tbsp
Green Onions – 2 stalks, sliced
Rice Vinegar – 1 tbsp
Cornstarch – 2 tbsp
Brown Sugar – 1 tsp
Chili Flakes – ½ tsp (optional)
Cooking Oil – 2 tbsp
Instructions
Heat wok or large skillet over high heat. Add cooking oil.
Add onion; sauté until translucent (2-3 minutes).
Push onion aside, add ground beef. Cook until browned (4-5 minutes), breaking into small pieces.
Add garlic, ginger, and chili flakes; sauté 30 seconds.
Stir in mushrooms and bell pepper. Cook 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
Whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Add to wok.
Reduce heat to medium-high; stir constantly until sauce thickens (2-3 minutes).
Garnish with green onions before serving.
Notes
Use a wok for optimal stir-fry results
Substitute shiitake or button mushrooms if cremini unavailable
Add frozen peas or broccoli for extra vegetables
Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3 days
