Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices Sourdough Bread (Thick-cut)
- 4 oz Brie or Goat Cheese
- 3 tbsp Blueberry Preserves
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter (Room temperature)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Blueberries (Optional)
Instructions
- Butter one side of each bread slice generously to ensure a golden crust.
- Spread a thin layer of high-quality blueberry preserves on the unbuttered side of two bread slices.
- Layer your choice of creamy cheese over the jam to act as the glue.
- Add a handful of fresh blueberries on top of the cheese if desired.
- Close the sandwiches so that the buttered sides are facing outward.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat to allow the bread to toast slowly.
- Place the sandwiches into the skillet carefully to start the cooking process.
- Cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side until the bread is deep golden brown.
- Remove the sandwiches from the heat once the cheese is completely melted and the bread is crisp.
- Slice diagonally and serve immediately while the center is warm and gooey.
Notes
Using low heat is essential to prevent the bread from burning before the cheese has time to fully melt. Use softened butter for an even coat, ensure cheese is at room temperature for faster melting, and press gently with a spatula halfway through cooking to help bond the layers together.
